Established in 1979 by J.A. (Jake) Davidson, P.Ag.,PAS. as a Livestock Nutrition consulting firm Bar-D Agri-Ventures has had wide-ranging expertise in all aspects of the Canadian Feed Industry with specific expertise in the Feeds Act and Regulations as administered by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency of Agriculture Canada.
Bar-D Agri-Ventures now provides nutrition formulation services related to the formulation of companion animal diets. Utilizing a feed and ingredient nutrient database developed over 40 years of industry experience, pet food diets are formulated to the highest standards using state of the art computer formulation software.
About Us
In 1979 the company was called Davidson Agribusiness Services and then from 1982 to 2004 Bar-D Enterprises. Bar-D acted as the Registered Canadian Agent for foreign firms marketing feeds and feed ingredients into the Canadian marketplace. Bar-D ceased acting as Canadian agent January 2017. Bar-D Agri-Ventures provided general livestock and poultry nutrition consulting as a free lance consultant. This included ration formulation, writing of lay and technical articles on livestock feeding, feed manufacturing or specific feed additives. Our formulation services are now concentrated on companion animal (dog and cat) products.
